Our Work
ICAM research in Renewables and Power currently features work in optimising triobofilm formation in gear oils for wind turbines and self-healing strategies for wind turbine blades for the extension of service life.
Due to the intermittency of wind power and other renewable energy sources, the development of effective and efficient energy storage technologies is crucial to maximise their utility. ICAM has further work on the development or porous membranes and investigation of their applications for separation and energy conversion and storage and also on the subsurface storage of hydrogen for energy storage.
